Our Community could not succeed without the generosity of our supporters. Please consider joining us in our mission by making a gift to Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh.
“Bill would have been 56 years old this year. At Emmaus, we think of him often, especially when we hear laughter. You may have met Bill over the years. He never missed a party and was always playing a joke on someone or telling stories about his neighborhood. Bill was born with Down syndrome at a time when people with disabilities were just beginning to leave institutions and live in the community. He lived at home with four loving brothers who taught him about fishing and football. He was an altar server in his church. He was proud to be Polish. He worked at the South Side Goodwill. He loved his job. Most of all, he loved his family. When Bill was 36 years old, his father began having health problems. His mother, elderly herself and now caring for her husband, realized that Bill needed a place he could call Home after they were gone. She found Emmaus. Thanks to the kindness of people like you, we were there for Bill and his family.” Read more . . .
Please consider donating to our 2016 “Breaking Bread Together” campaign to help more people like Bill! For every donation of $100 or more, we are partnering with Breadworks to share a loaf of bread with a neighbor and build community!
Gifts of every amount are important to us. Checks can be made out to “Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh” and mailed to:
