The Emmaus Community is committed to educating the greater community about the needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and sharing information about the Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities system.
Emmaus also works to build awareness of the organization and to serve as a voice for the individuals in its care, and has provided more than 170 awareness presentations to local community organizations.
In 2007, Emmaus began reaching out to individuals with intellectual disabilities among different cultural backgrounds, recognizing that lack of knowledge about the resources and language barriers were the main road blocks preventing them from finding help.
Emmaus offers brochures about our residential programs and respite programs in many languages (including Chinese-simplified, Chinese-traditional, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, and Turkish).
