Life Sharing Offered by The Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh

Assistance with daily living activities in your home, including grooming, health care, household care, and so much more.

What is Life Sharing?

Individuals are invited to live with a family, couple, or single person.

The host(s) will assist individuals in acquiring, maintaining, or enhancing skills essential for community living, encouraging greater independence, and engaging meaningfully in community activities. Services include support, guidance, and assistance in all aspects of daily life.

Individuals are still eligible to participate in day programs, receive other services, and tailor the supports to their needs.

Are you looking for a way to make a meaningful impact in the life of an individual with an Intellectual Disability?

Become a Life Sharing Partner!

Welcoming someone into your home as a Life Sharing Partner means sharing your lives together. In this role, you would assist the individual in living their most independent life within the comfort of a family environment. Here are some ways you can provide support:

  • Home management.
  • Healthcare management.
  • Relationship development.
  • Communication skills.
  • Community participation.
  • And much more!

Life Sharing Partners receive a monthly stipend for the continuous care and support they offer, while also experiencing the personal fulfillment of sharing their lives and having a positive impact on the individuals they support.
